I like feedback to my work to be informative. That's a pretty broad term, so I'll try and make it a bit more specific for you.
When someone gives me feedback for something I've done, it feels good to have them say wonderful flattering things about it, but it's not that informative. I like to hear good things, but I also like to hear things that will make my project better.

I know what you mean. It is always nice to feel like the person liked your paper, but it doesn't really help you unless they tell you things that you can improve as well.
